Basílio Cumbane
Data Manager, Mozambique Co-Secretariat of the NCDI Poverty Network
Basílio Cumbane, the Data Manager for the NCDI Poverty Network’s Mozambique Co-Secretariat, earned his credentials as a statistician at the National Statistics Institute of Mozambique.
From 2017 to 2022, Cumbane worked for the Mozambique Institute for Health Education and Research as a Data Manager in research projects implemented by the Instituto Nacional de Saúde through the Non-Communicable Diseases Program. He also worked as a Monitoring Assistant for research projects in the NCD Department of the Instituto Nacional de Saúde. There he was responsible for the development, systematization, and management—including the use of spatial data management tools such as mapping and geoprocessing—of databases for research projects.
Cumbane was also responsible for the training, supervision, and technical assistance of typists in the data entry process, and he supported the design of data collection tools for the implementation of field studies, including processing, data analysis, and the writing of statistical progress and end-of-study reports.
